URBN Wednesdays: Red Cafe

Wednesday, May 24, 2017

Caprice

You’re in for one hell of a ride this Wednesday night as Red Cafe, one of Brooklyn’s biggest rappers, tears up our rooftop.

Guyana-born, Brooklyn-bred hip-hop artist is an American rapper signed to Rapper Akon’s Konvict Muzik, Diddy’s Bad Boy Records and DJ Clue’s Desert Storm.

People have called him Red his entire life. It was the name his street-hustling father went by. The “Cafe” would come later. “I hustled every kind of paraphernalia there is,” he says. “I never stick to one hustle to make a dollar. I continue to move strategically to make something out of nothing. So RED CAFE has always been where you could come to get anything you want.”

Red Cafe’s love of hip-hop began when he spent 4 years in jail. He’s not new to this game – he has released hundreds of mix tapes over the years. His hard-hitting, chilling freestyles and remakes have been featured on the mix tapes of the hottest NY DJ’s —WHOO KID, ENVY, CRAIG G, S+S, KOOL KID, etc.
