Spring has Sprung and with it comes a whole lot of fashion! Here are the highlights for Spring 2016:

1. Bright and Bold Stripes

Classic stripes are getting an update this spring season in a wide spectrum of colors. Whether you reach for a statement coat or are planning to stock up on some tanks to pair with your favorite pair of jeans, brighten up your wardrobe with some wide and bold stripes this season.

2. Gingham

While gingham patterns have been in for a few seasons now, they have gotten even bolder and more grown-up for 2016. In addition to more accenting, there is also more color and touches of creativity. Look for tailored trousers and mid-length dresses in this classic print.

3. Micro pleats

The micro-pleated texture is a great go-to for skirts and dresses this spring. While it adds a modern shape to any silhouette, it also remains unstructured, allowing pieces to drape flatteringly on all body types.

4. Ruffles

Ruffles are very in this season, and they come in many shapes and sizes. If you choose to go for this ultra-feminine detail, make sure to wear your ruffles soft and loose, cascading in layers and falling in folds. Whether in suede, silk or raffia, let the fabric dictate the shape.

5. Off-the-shoulder

Shoulders are the erogenous zone for Spring 2016. Forget fussing with an off-the-shoulder top that constantly needs readjustment. This season’s take on the trend secures at the neck, elegantly exposing your neckline and shoulders with ease.

6. Done up Denim

This spring’s take on denim kicks it up a notch with indigo-printed patterns, subtle acid washing, and eyelet texture. Pick up the new style in silhouettes such as wide leg jeans and high-waist skirts.

7. Sporty mesh

If you’ve always wanted to wear your mesh sports tanks in public, this is the season for you. Go sporty with this sheer trend this spring and opt for a knit mesh instead of girly lace. Even though mesh might have athletic roots, this trend looks equally awesome in a t-shirt as it does in a date-night dress.

8. Low-slung pants

Excited to flaunt that toned belly you’ve been working on all winter? Trouser waistlines have dropped dramatically for spring, resting comfortably at the hip. Whether you go for silk, wool or cotton, make sure to seek styles with a slouchy, wide-leg shape.

9. Shine and Sparkle

Luckily for us, sequins and sparkle aren’t limited to the holiday season this year. Go festive this Spring and try burgundy, green and navy instead of the more traditional black, silver, and gold for an added unexpected and head-turning detail.

10. Paper-bag waist

Among the most flattering of shapes (even more so than your boyfriend (‘s) jeans) is the paper bag style that will not only nip in your waist, but also allow some breathing room on top and bottom. Simply tuck a slim top into your paper-bag skirt or pants of choice to balance out the exaggerated proportions.
