You Can Now Make An “Ekhraj Eid” Online… Kind Of

Digitizing paperwork and forms may be a thing of the past in most countries, but here in Lebanon, we’re just getting started.

The bane of so many people’s existence, the dreaded “ekhraj el eid” or extract of civil registry is a form that essentially verifies information on your ID. It is used for ~most~ paperwork you have to submit whether it is a driver’s license, passport, or the like.

Now, you can get your ekhraj eid with the click of a few buttons. Here’s the process:

1. Go to the website of the Directorate General of Civil Status.

2. Select “ekhraj eid electronic” print.

3. Fill out the form.

4. Submit it at your place of origin on ID (not residence).

After the first submission, you will be able to submit a request at your place of residence, and not have to bother sending paperwork back and forth across towns and villages.

Sounds good? A touch flawed but not bad!
