Breaking: Protests In Tripoli, Chtoura, And Saida Against Extension Of Lockdown
Just moments ago, citizens in the northern city of Tripoli, the Bekaa city of Chtoura, and the southern city of Saida have taken to the streets to protest the ongoing strict lockdown measures that have left so many of them penniless and unable to feed their families.
Just last night, clashes took place in Tripoli as security forces hurled teargas canisters and rubber bullets at citizens who were expressing their hunger amid a worsening economic crisis. This resulted in 41 injuries.
Concurrently, the ministry of social affairs announced that they would no longer be able to provide any financial aid to struggling families.
For those dying of hunger, COVID-19 is not a concern, a sentiment that the ruling class has never understood.
