Al Bustan Festival To Warm Your Hearts With Its Five-Week Winter Program
Following a one year hiatus, Al Bustan Festival of Music and the Performing Arts is back this winter season with a thrilling new musical program centering on the theme of reconnecting. Founded in 1994, the annual event has been instrumental in reviving Lebanon’s cultural scene as it draws in both local and international talents to the Lebanese stage.
Thirteen events including ten concerts, an opera, a charity performance for FORSA, and “The Breath We Held” free theatre performance will be presented live over a five week period – from February 16 until March 13, under the “Reconnect” title.
Among the featured international and local artists this year are pianists Khatia Buniatishvili and Boris Berezovsky, cellist Victor Julien-Laferrière, oriental singer Oumeima El Khalil, and Soprano Joyce El Khoury who will be opening the festival accompanied by Gianluca Marciano on piano.
All performances will take place at Al Bustan Hotel in Beit Mery, expect for the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra’s “Maestra” concert and “Cello Serenade” which will be performed respectively at Saint-Joseph Jesuit Church in Monot and at Sursock Palace in Ashrafieh.
Most tickets are set at 350,000 LBP and can be purchased either from the festival’s box office at Hotel Al Bustan or from Antoine Library branches. Bus roundtrip tickets are also available so you don’t have to worry about transportation from Beirut to Beit Mery. You can visit the festival’s official website for more information.
Social distancing and preventative measures will be applied as visitors will be asked to show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test not older than 48 hours before entering the auditorium. So come prepared and enjoy the sound of music!
