Minister of Health Test Positive For COVID-19
The Minister of Health in Lebanon’s caretaker government Dr. Firas Abiad has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a tweet, Dr. Abiad thanked everyone for their well-wishes and revealed that his symptoms are mild. He will be appearing on MTV’s Sar el Waet via Skype.
Despite being hailed a hero during his time as chief of Beirut’s governmental hospital (particularly throughout the pandemic), Abiad has been subject to criticism as of late due to his seeming inaction regarding pressing issues such as the absence of cancer treatment meds.
