In a bid to get commuters in Lebanon back on their ride-hailing app, Uber is proposing a new way to negotiate fare prices with an all-new feature.
The economic crisis and largely unstable currency has resulted in drivers calling ahead of rides to negotiate higher fees for their services than what is set on the application. In response to these incidents which have become frustrating for commuters, Uber has introduced UberFlex. The new feature allows users to suggest a price for their ride, and then gives drivers the ability to accept or reject that fare.
The feature aims to give riders utmost control and flexibility when it comes to their ride-hailing experience.
Here’s how it works:
– The user can select their preferred price by proposing an amount to the driver. The driver can either accept or counteroffer with a different amount if the price is too low or too high.
– Once an agreement is reached, proceed with the payment and drop-off process as usual.
By giving riders more control over the price of their ride, Uber hopes to avoid any issues with the cost of their ride-hailing services and simultaneously ensure fair earnings for their drivers with the new feature. You can now benefit from UberFlex by simply updating your app, hailing a ride, and propose a price for the service.
