Free Pap Smears Now Available At Marsa
Marsa is a sexual health center in Beirut that believes in making sexual and reproductive health services more accessible in Lebanon. It works in partnership with Lebanon’s Ministry of Public health to improve HIV and STI care and prevention across the country, alongside a variety of social, psychological, and medical services. Marsa offers its services at subsidized prices but recently announced that Pap smears are now available at their center for free.
What is a Pap smear and why is it important?
A Pap smear is a procedure in which cells are collected from the cervix for examination and testing. Conducting the test is important for early detection and prevention of cervical abnormalities or cancer. It’s usually recommended for sexually active individuals with a uterus aged between 21 and 64 years old.
