Loop Scooters is the first fully integrated Lebanese scooter sharing system of its kind.
The service works on pre-bookings and their scooters do not require you to have a motorcycle license. With a $1.3 million dollar investment from Berytech Fund II, the service aims to eventually have 55 scooters at a number of scooter stations around Beirut.
How it works Like most things in 2017, using a Loop Scooter starts with downloading the app (Loop Beirut). Right after signing up, you’ll have a free orientation session which will teach you the basics about using their scooters.
Using the app, you’ll then need to book your scooter by reserving it ahead of time. Once you book, you’ll receive a PIN code which you’ll need to use to access the scooter, meaning the whole process is keyless, too!
With an advanced web tracking system, once you reach your destination all you’ll need to do is park in one of the docking stations throughout beirut, place the helmet in its designated box, and Loop will do the rest.
Rental fees range from
2,000 LL – 15,000 LL.
What do you think about this new initiative? Do you think it will help better the city’s transportation system?
