Toumouh for Social Development is a youth-led Lebanese initiative responding to the growing needs of displaced families across the country. Although a ceasefire is currently in place, many families are still living in emergency shelters and in need of support.
Founded as a youth committee under a broader educational and social framework, the organization focuses on community support, education, and development programs.
In recent months, Toumouh has been active in Lebanon’s emergency response efforts, supporting displaced families with hot meals, mattresses, medication, and other daily necessities. It also runs mental health support workshops, offering children safe spaces and activities to help them cope with stress and displacement.
So far, the initiative has provided over 150,000 meals, currently sponsoring six schools that are hosting displaced families. Toumouh operates within a wider network of humanitarian actors responding to urgent needs. Access to basic supplies remains a daily challenge for thousands of families.
Beyond immediate relief efforts, Toumouh for Social Development is backed by Toumouh-ASSG, an organization whose main mission is providing university scholarships to students in need. So far, Toumouh-ASSG has granted scholarships to more than 4,700 students, supported over 14,000 orphans, and is currently caring for 200 children through its ongoing programs centered around education and social support.
As needs continue to grow, the organization remains part of Lebanon’s wider grassroots response effort. If you’d like to support Toumouh, you can donate via this GoFundMe link.
