Shortly after the much-awaited fourth season of
La Casa de Papel premiered on Netflix a few days ago, the streaming website followed up with
Money Heist: The Phenomenon, an hour-long documentary on why and how the popular Spanish series sparked a wave of enthusiasm around the world for a group of thieves and their professor.
The documentary is currently #2 in Lebanon, probably because it features snippets of the Lebanese revolution, which kicked off on October 17th!
The signature red jumpsuits and Dali masks were common among Lebanese protestors, using them as a symbol of resistance as insinuated in the series. This was also the case for protestors all over the world, which turned the Money Heist “costume” into a worldwide phenomenon studied in the documentary.
In other words: Mama, we made it!
