Harper’s Bazaar Names Lebanese-Trinidadian Samira Nasr As New Editor In Chief
Harper’s Bazaar has named Lebanese-Trinidadian Samira Nasr as the new editor-in-chief, making her the first black woman to be appointed in the publication’s 153-year-history.
Editorial Purpose: We thought we’d share this delightful piece of content with you in the hopes of spreading some good energy.
Nasr previously worked as the executive fashion director of the Condé Nast magazine Vanity Fair, where she oversaw the presentation of celebrities like Renée Zellweger, Jennifer Lopez, and Eddie Murphy for the annual Hollywood issue.
“As the proud daughter of a Lebanese father and Trinidadian mother, my world view is expansive and is anchored in the belief that representation matters,” said Nasr in an Instagram video during which she announced and celebrated her new position. “I will work to give all voices a platform to tell stories that would never have been told,” she added.
This is a huge win!
Congratulations, Samira Nasr, we’re looking forward to a more inclusive world at Bazaar.
