Lebanon’s Only School For Children With Autism To Shut Down

Lebanon’s educational sector has suffered several blows since the beginning of the crisis, and it is currently placed in an alarming position amidst the country’s never-ending downward spiral.

Daraj Media reported earlier this week that Lebanon’s only school for autistic children is closing its doors.

123 Autism School has been operating for almost 2 years, providing social initiatives and personalized educational programs for children with autism.

The alarming news comes as part of Lebanon’s freefall. The school has reportedly kept its tuition fees at the official rate of 1,500LL but could not keep up with expenses, since they would need around 20 million LL to cover for fuel alone.

It’s simply heartbreaking and terrifying to see such support systems shut down due to a neglectful and corrupt state. Many individuals are put in danger when such institutions are unable to maintain their operations.
