What These 4 Iconic TV Characters Would Do In Lebanon

TV Characters are the symbols of our time, and we spend hours in their company. So we thought why not do a guide of how our favorite screen heroes would choose to live their lives in Lebanon?

1. Tony and Carmella Soprano

Tony and Carmella finally take a trip out of New Jersey and choose Beirut as their destination. They stay at the Albergo Hotel in Achrafieh. Carmella is terrified that Tony brought her here because she thinks everyone is a terrorist, but she finds Beyt in Mar Mikhael and makes this cozy spot her home.

Tony on the other hand meets with local mafios to flesh out some business deals. They sit and negotiate over a full Italian meal at Bavaglino. After that, Tony goes to party at AHM, while Carmella has a romantic dinner alone at Villa Badaro.

Tony stumbles into the hotel room at 4 AM and Carmella pretends she’s asleep, and they do it all over again the next day.

2. Don Draper

Our favorite ad man has finally made his way to Beirut. He chooses the Arthaus Beirut to be his home. He then goes and looks for some inspiration at a local cafe, but ends up settling in at Gemmayze’s House of Butlers for a few Old Fashioneds.

After trying (and somehow drunkenly succeeding) to pitch his firm’s services to a local executive he meets there, he finds a beautiful girl and suavely gets her to come back to the hotel with him.

3. Elaine Benes

Elaine has been tasked by J. Peterman to go to Lebanon and explore the local culture in search for ideas for the next catalog. Because she doesn’t want to be a typical tourist, she chooses Sour to be her spot, staying at the Dar Alma Boutique Hotel. After failing to come up with ideas on where to go, she ends up on the Beirut.com website and reads one of our guides for Sour. On the city’s pristine beach, she tries to conjure up some ideas, such as the Lebanese Jellyfish Hat or the Arab Flying Umbrella Dress, but she’s not satisfied. Then she goes for lunch at Abou Deeb and has some shawarma. A shawarma-print top perhaps? She thinks to herself.

Feeling defeated, she goes and drowns her sorrows at the medieval Tavolino pub. Back home, she complains to Jerry about how annoying the whole trip was.

4. Roman Roy

Roman Roy has been sent to Beirut to look for some business opportunities for his father. He feels like this is a demotion and a reason to send him away, but he wants to make sure he makes the best out of his time here and stays at the Phoenicia Hotel. He really wants to spend the entire time just wallowing in his hotel, but he attends business meetings all over the city, eating at all the finest establishments.

Finally free of all the business talk, he has the most fun when he finds himself at Haunted Escape room in Jdeideh. He spends the entire day there, terrorizing the people that are supposed to be terrorizing him and enjoying the room’s torture. He looks up other escape rooms in town and spends the rest of his time there. When he gets back, he doesn’t share any of this info with his family.
