A group of young men was caught attempting to loot homes in the Ghobeiry area, where many residents had fled due to ongoing bombings.
According to reports, Kafaat residents apprehended one of the thieves as he tried to break into a home. In Ghobeiry, another thief was captured and tied to a pole with a sign reading “harame” (thief). This served as a public warning to those considering robbing the homes of displaced residents.
Images of the incident quickly circulated on social media, showing young men bound to a pole in Ghobeiry. This sparked a heated debate. Many questioned whether this form of street justice was humane, especially given the dire circumstances. With the region already devastated by relentless air raids, many residents left their homes behind, making them vulnerable to looters.

While some praised the residents for defending their neighborhood, others were disturbed by the extreme measures taken. The big question remains: is this form of justice acceptable? And with the bombings continuing to endanger everyone, how long will they remain tied to the pole before someone steps in?
This surreal scene has left many wondering if we’re witnessing a reality that feels more like fiction than real life.
