Massad Boulos, a prominent Lebanese-American businessman, may soon take on a high-profile diplomatic role in the Middle East. In an interview with Al Jadeed, Boulos revealed he could serve as the “US point man for Lebanon” under the Trump administration.
His mission? To mediate between the U.S. and Lebanon, reportedly aiming to broker a ceasefire deal.
Who is Massad Boulos?
A billionaire with ties to both Lebanon and Nigeria, Boulos moved to Texas as a teenager. He pursued a law degree at the University of Houston.
Upon finishing his studies, Boulos returned to his family’s business and became the CEO of SCOA Nigeria. This billion-dollar conglomerate specializes in the distribution of motor vehicles and equipment across West Africa. In 2009, Boulos expanded his reach by running for a parliamentary seat in Lebanon.
His Involvement in US Politics
Massad’s unique position within Trump’s circle comes after his son Michael married Tiffany Trump in 2022. This makes him an influential figure in Trump’s campaign and outreach to Arab-American communities. He’s already seen as a crucial link between Trump’s team and Middle Eastern leaders, especially as tensions continue to rise in the region.
His anticipated role mirrors that of Biden’s advisor, Amos Hochstein, who hasn’t managed to establish peace in the region.
