The World’s 50 Best Restaurants has published their annual Middle East & North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026, and this year, Cairo’s Khufu’s claimed the #1 spot, while the list also saw the inclusion of three Lebanese restaurants with one of them winning the Highest New Entry Award 2026!
The highest-ranking Lebanese restaurant this year was Beihouse at #5, with the curators describing it as:
“…a microcosm of Beirut” and “a hive of activity that’s deeply Lebanese yet refreshingly avant-garde, championing culture, cuisine and community across a network of carefully considered spaces.”
The curators of the list go on to recommend their foie gras parfait and duck in vine leaves. Beihouse was also honored with this year’s the Highest New Entry Award!
Em Sherif followed at #13:
“As the quintessential Lebanese dining experience, Em Sherif offers guests a taste of traditional home cooking in a truly opulent setting designed to make you feel like you could be eating food served at the chef’s own kitchen table.”
Their recommendations include the kibbeh nayyeh and mhallabiyeh dessert.
Buco takes the #39 spot:
“…a portmanteau of ‘burgers’ and ‘cocktails’, its ethos is comfort food, done right. A modern gastro bar designed to elevate the humble burger with premium ingredients and creative toppings.”
Their noteworthy dishes include the classic cheeseburger and wagyu burger.
