In light of the increased aggressions against Lebanon, founder of the Lebanese National Theater Kassem Istanbouli announced that venues in Tyre and Tripoli have opened their doors to families forced to flee their homes.
Istanbouli explained that theater management has begun preparing the halls and securing basic needs, in collaboration with volunteers from the Tiro Arts Association, in response to the urgent humanitarian situation. “The theater is a space for people and must serve them in times of war as in peace, remaining open to all who need it,” he stated.

He added: “We’ve decided to turn the stage from a performance platform into a safe space. If the theater is the house of dreams in normal times, today it is a real home for those who have lost theirs. This is our responsibility as a cultural institution beyond any symbolic gesture.”
This initiative aligns with scattered civil efforts across Lebanon to accommodate displacement waves from across Lebanon.
