This Lebanese Platform Lets You Report Issues Your Municipality Hasn’t Fixed

If you’re tired of complaining to your neighborhood WhatsApp group only to see nothing change, a new Lebanese platform called Baladi Map wants to streamline the process so that your municipality can see the reports and resolve them.
What is Baladi Map?
Created by Lebanese engineer Roy Bou Nassif, Baladi Map is a free public platform where residents can report anything their municipality is responsible for but hasn’t addressed. You can access their website here.
Instead of getting buried in a group chat, every report is pinned to an interactive map with its exact location, making it visible to everyone, including the municipality concerned.
How to use the platform
Using the platform is simple. Open the website from your phone or computer, and upload a photo of the issue. Baladi Map automatically attaches the location, date, and category before publishing it on the map. Reports remain public and can be updated as “Open”, “Noted”, “In Progress”, or “Fixed”. This makes it easy to track whether anything has actually been done.
Residents can report a wide range of municipal issues, including electricity and water problems, rubbish, damaged roads, blocked pavements, excessive noise, and public land being occupied. The goal is to create a permanent public record instead of letting these complaints disappear after a few days.
