Want to Go on Side Quests Around Lebanon? You Need This Lebanese Card Game

Here’s a tried-and-true way to make your outings 99% more interesting in Lebanon, tested and approved by the Beirut.com team that has been to virtually every place, tried every activity, and still somehow manages to find new ways to have fun.

Side Quest is a Lebanese adventure game, and it’s practically a physical embodiment of our website (so maybe we’re biased when we say we love it). While bored in Beirut, we decided to give it a try. Here’s how it went, in case you missed our video:

Created by 21-year-old Ahmad Ghour, the idea came from a pitch he developed for a university course. That idea eventually became a 60-card adventure deck designed to get people out of their usual routines and exploring Lebanon. Side Quest was to not only created to make you fall in love with Lebanon all over again, but also support local businesses while doing it.

The cards include numerous activities ranked by difficulty level. The more planning the activity needs, the higher the difficulty ranking. Many quests send you to local cafés, restaurants, shops, and experiences, encouraging players to spend their day and money locally.

Bring it along for a weekend with friends, use it for a spontaneous date, or draw a card when you have absolutely no idea what to do. You can even use it solo if you’re feeling adventurous. Because some quests are free or low-cost, you don’t necessarily need to spend a fortune to complete one.

The game itself is also pretty affordable, and it would make for a great gift for adventurous people or your diaspora who visits from abroad and always has no idea what they want to do during their stay. With 60 cards, 50 QR guides, and 150+ recommendations, we’re sure Side Quest will keep you busy.
