We all love a good market day in Beirut. You go in thinking you’ll just have a quick look around, then you’re trying things you didn’t plan on buying, grabbing something to eat, and somehow staying for the music. If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, then you need to add this festival to your weekend plans.
Ekher Eyem El Sayfeyye is happening at Barbour Souk in Beirut from Thursday, October 8 to Sunday, October 11. Organized by A7la Souk, the 4-day festival will bring together local brands, handmade and artisanal products, food, live music, and entertainment.
And yes, entrance is free.
You can come by to browse the market, pick up something from a local business, grab a bite, or stay into the evening for the performances. There’s no need to plan your whole day around it.
Thursday, October 8 – Layal Abboud
The festival starts with a live performance by Layal Abboud as part of the A7la Souk program.
Friday, October 9 – Fawda Munazzama
On Friday, Fawda Munazzama will perform live, bringing music to the market for the evening.
Saturday, October 10 – Amir Yazbek
Amir Yazbek takes the stage on Saturday for an evening of live music.
Sunday, October 11 – DJ, Entertainment & Kids’ Activities
The final day will include a DJ, entertainment, and balloons for kids, making Sunday a more family-focused day.
Of course, the market itself is a big part of the experience. If one of your favorite activities involves browsing stands and supporting local brands, you’ll definitely enjoy this festival.
