Lebanese Mothers Take To The Streets Against Sectarianism
In an attempt to condemn last night’s tense political events that took place on the streets of Chiyah and Ain El Rummeneh, Lebanese mothers from both areas have decided to take to the streets today at 4:00 PM, next to Sannine Roastery.
They’re calling on support from protestors all over the country to join them in their stand against all attempts of sectarian divide and intimidation.
Many sources claim that the tensions initially arose after an old video re-surfaced on social media, showing followers of political parties cursing one another. Luckily, some residents were well aware of these practices, and immediately called for calm.
On that note, we’d like to remind our readers to play the role of responsible citizens and to hold back on sharing anything that could amplify the already stressful situation.
