Update: Lebanon Pays UN Membership Dues

Mabrouk everyone, Lebanon has officially restored its voting rights as a member state of the United Nations General Assembly!

A few days ago, Lebanon made international headlines for falling behind on membership dues and failing to pay an owed amount of $459,000. And while the jorsa was very flattering – not – it seems the Lebanese state has rectified the situation and paid the fee.

According to Permanent Representative of Lebanon to the United Nations Amal Mudallali, payments were delayed “because of the current situation in Lebanon”, but everything is back to normal now and Lebanon is no longer under Article 19.
