Head Of Beirut Port Arrested Following Blast Investigation

Following the catastrophic blast that rocked Lebanon’s capital on Tuesday, August 4, authorities are conducting an investigation to identify those responsible for the devastation that hit Beirut.

As part of the investigation, Head Manager of Beirut Port Hassan Qoreitem has reportedly been arrested among 16 others by the military police in the Lebanese Army under the supervision of the Attorney General.

This comes after the Lebanese government placed 7 Beirut Port officials including Qoreitem under house arrest, freezing their bank accounts and lifting their bank secrecy.

After 100+ people were confirmed dead, more than 5000 injured, hundreds missing with no trace, and 300,000 people left homeless, we hope justice is served to the fullest extent of the law against those responsible.
