Nearest Appointment For Passport Renewal? April 2023!
Those of you with expired or soon-to-be expired passports, we sincerely hope you don’t have any travel plans coming up!
After months of insane queues and a complete halt of the issuing of travel documents, Lebanon’s General Security announced the reinstatement of the appointments platform that had been paused briefly.
It was not long before citizens began complaining about the absurd wait times for these appointments, with rumors swirling that the nearest ones were well into next year.
Sky News reporter and producer Larissa Aoun registered on the platform only to reveal that the nearest appointment she could find was April 6, 2023.
In the words of Don Henley, “You can check-out any time you like, but you can never leave”.
