Whimsically curated in Earth’s crust millions of years ago, and delicately collected by Mr. Salim Edde since 1997, Mim is a private mineral museum in Beirut, beholding one of the world’s most thrilling private collections of minerals, both for the variety and quality of its timeless pieces. It exhibits more than 1800 minerals, showcasing almost 400 different species from over 70 countries.

The museum celebrates its meticulous dedication to the collection and the preservation of the mineral earthly formations, that are rightfully considered divine gifts from nature. The prestigious collection of minerals features best known species, rare pieces, and major mining discoveries of our time. Not only does it deliver a marvelous scientific introduction to the world of mineralogy, but also an aesthetically ethereal energetic experience from Mother Nature.

The museum also discloses precious gem stones collection from all over the world and a thematic exhibition of 200 marine fossils, some are extracted from the Lebanese mountains. The crystals are beautifully exhibited through special lightening techniques, and the history of fossil formation through exciting visual animation that will take you back on a 100-millions-of-years ride into the ancient marine life.

Not to forget to mention Mimodactylus libanensis “mimo”, the fossil of a pterodactyl promoted in a special wing, is a one-of-a-kind complete specimen only found in Lebanon in the Middle East. This piece is exhibited through the hologram, an auto-stereoscopic movie, a full-scale reconstitution and a game “Fly with Mimo” – an interactive live experience that will definitely delight enthusiasts and children.
