What If Colleen Hoover Books Were Based On Lebanese People?

Colleen Hoover has taken the world (or rather, the world of teenagers) by storm, and Lebanon is no exception. With Colleen Hoover books disappearing off the shelves, we thought: what if these books were based on Lebanese people?

1. Ugly Love

When Tala met her brother’s best friend Mohammad, she knew eno ma byenta2. She’s a nurse at mestashfa Rizk (she doesn’t have time for a relationship) and he works with MEA (meaning he loves $$$).

They decide they’re in it for the *whispers* sex bas eno 3ayb, ma t2oolo la hada.

This is one dramatic couple that is so broken that they don’t ask about the past and don’t expect a future together. Bas lel 2asaf…promises get broken w love becomes ugly (cringe).

2. Confess

When Aya came to Beirut to pursue her love for art, she falls in love with Omar, an artist who has a studio in Gemmayze.

Kel wahad mennon has a “dark past” that we don’t really care to know about, but apparently it’s important for the plot progression. What we do know is that Aya’s ex-boyfriend passed away and that she and Omar only properly spend time together for like a week abel ma y2arrer howe eno baddo yeha w lezem yetjawazo.

3. November 9

Every November 9th, Bassel and Farah go on a date (we don’t know why that date in particular). Somehow meeting each other once a year makes them fall in love, ma tes2aloona keef. November 9 b zakkera lamma wele3 l ta2a l shamsiye w htara2 bayton. Very traumatic.

Farah’s lifelong dream is to have a role in Al Hayba, but her dad didn’t think she was Nadine Njeim-y enough. And because Bassel ktir mentally stable, he got jealous eno fi wahad 3am b shek 3a Farah and set her house on fire so she can relive the trauma.

4. It Ends With Us

It Ends With Us 3al Lebnene tells the story of Layla who lives in Beirut and falls in love with Rony, who is a doctor at AUBMC. While Layla wants someone t3arrefo 3a ahla, Rony bas baddo wehde yekheda la yetsallo b his chalet in Faraya.

When they meet again months later, they start falling for each other. She then runs into her ex-lover Ali who pisses her off by telling her “sayra metel emmik” because he’s jealous of her relationship with Rony bas ba3den betsemho because walla haram mahdoom.

Layla gets stuck in a love triangle between her, Rony, and Ali. Heye w Rony byeterko alf marra and bel ekher she decides Ali is the one for her.

5. Verity

Lara learns that she is offered the opportunity to complete the series of a well-known novelist who suffered a horrible accident 3a jisr el ring and could no longer complete her novels. Her injuries were so bad she was mostly unresponsive, so Lara btet3arraf 3a the novelist’s husband Joseph who she falls in love with because of her severe daddy issues.

6. Heart Bones

Batoul goes to live with her dad in his beach house ma3 marto l ajnabiye (tzawaja kermel l passport), and she meets Samer. Super rich guy w b heb yfashekh his many chalets in Batroun. Batoul later finds out that all the riches were lies w tole3 bya3rfoo ktir b sejen Roumieh.

Batoul went to study law at the Lebanese University because she wanted to get Samer out of prison, but he broke out with 12 other prisoners and was never heard from again. Oh well.
