Lebanese Lira Hits Record Low (For Now) Of 50,000LL To The Dollar

A continued steady decline in the Lebanese Lira against the US dollar has reached an all time low for the currency. Moments ago, the Lira crumbled to 50,000 on the dollar, marking a new surreal devaluation.

Still, there appears to be no recovery plan for Lebanon’s free-falling currency and excruciating economic turmoil. This will undoubtedly be met with a skyrocket in prices of basic goods, medications, and other necessities, which will leave the majority of the population at high risk.

Hyperinflation, along with the sharp devaluation of the Lira, has left many with unlivable wages. Unfortunately, when it comes to the status of the Lira, record lows only seem to last long enough for new record lows to be achieved.
