Mexican Cultural Weekend at Gibran Museum

The Mexican Embassy in Lebanon, in collaboration with the Gibran National Committee, is getting out the piñatas and maracas for a weekend of celebrations under the summer sun. Come and learn how to salsa like they do in the clubs of Mexico City with natives Flako and Ana, followed by a wild party night with traditional music to get the blood racing. Colourful dresses and flowing tequila are expected.

The following day, chill out with a screening of the Guillermo del Toro’s 2006 cult film ‘El laberinto del fauno’ (Pan’s Labyrinth). The film’s surreal narrative interweaves good and evil, fairies and fawns on one little girl’s quest to be reunited with her father.

There’ll also be displays of Mexican handicrafts and photo essays on exhibit all weekend. This is one real fiesta that you won’t want to miss.
