Synopsis: Dante’s Inferno is a theatrical adaptation to one of the most famous Italian texts of all time. Dante Alighieri wrote The Divine Comedy between 1308 and 1321, which included three poems: Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso. In this adaptation of Dante’s Inferno, Dante struggles to regain his faith and find absolution. He encounters a shade of Virgil, one the most famous Roman poets at the time of Augustus, who tells him that he must travel the nine layers of hell in order to reach his beloved Beatrice, who resides in Paradiso. Through his journey, Dante discovers many tribulations from his past, which might affect his voyage and stop him from reaching the love of his life.
