Fadi Moghaizel Lecture at AUBMC

Ethics Matters Initiative of Salim El-Hoss Bioethics and Professionalism Program invites you to a lecture “The ‘new’ Lebanese Code of Medical Ethics: A small step forward,” by Fadi Moghaizel at AUBMC SB 101.

Synopsis: On October 22, 2012, the revised Code of Medical Ethics has been enacted and came into effect. The revised law brought several improvements to the 1994 Code, even if certain areas still require elaboration and adjustment. The talk will outline the major changes in the law with respect to professional secrecy, physicians’ fees, physicians’ liability, duties to patients, human experiments, transplants, artificial Insemination, abortion, physicians duties towards their colleagues, and the relationship between physicians and medical institutions. An English translation of the complete text of the revised law will be available.
