Join the Mark Hachem Gallery as it holds a charity filled with activities. Lebanon hosts hundreds of thousands of Syrian civilians who have fled the fighting in their nation. Escaping with only their lives, traveling on foot, they arrive with only the clothes on their backs.
“Atfal Souriyah” is a one-off event to raise money to help alleviate their suffering. The event will include a talk with Elizabeth White, who will be sharing her personal illustrations and story of her time in Damascus throughout 2011. Artworks generously donated by renowned artists will be exhibited during the event and a silent auction will run on the day.
Moving drawings and paintings made by the children living in the refugee camps of Lebanon will be exhibited and for sale. All money will go back toward the children to supply them with food, clothing, school supplies, teaching aid and shelter.
