Saint Jacob Monastery

The Monastery of Saint Jacob of Nisibis (Mar Yaaqoub an-Nassibini), Al-Hosn at Douma, in the Batroun district of North Lebanon, stands on a hill at 1000 metres above sea level, close to the Hosn fortress, built by the Crusaders to the north of the Bshaale fortress.

The Lebanese Maronite Order constructed the monastery to defend Maronite rights to this long-abandoned place of worship.
