The BGC Presents Funk Ain’t Noise Pollution with DJ Format

The Beirut Groove Collective in collaboration with Yukunkun are pleased to announce an event with funk and disco sensation, DJ Format (AKA Matt Ford), the British hip hop DJ and producer. Now one of the biggest names within the global underground hip hop scene, DJ Format first came to public attention when he opened for DJ Shadow on a tour in 2002. He’s spent years collaborating and touring with Jurassic 5 and his solo albums have received critical acclaim. He’s built a solid reputation as a DJ and producer and has toured around the world.

The BGC are proud to bring DJ Format to Beirut for the first time. He’ll play a strictly 45 vinyl set of deep funk, latin funk and old school hip hop, supported by a line-up of some of the best (and few) vinyl DJs based in Beirut, all part of the Beirut Groove Collective family, including BGC co-founder, DJ Spindle (aka Ernesto Chahoud), Deejay Yukah and Natalie Baby S.
