Passos Alegres

They teach and perform Capoeira Regional, Afro-Brazilian Dance, and Batucada-traditional samba music played by percussion groups in Brazil’s Parades.

Although officially established in 2012, Passos Alegres’ services have been functional in Lebanon since 2009 through Filhos de Bimba Escola de Capoeira (FBEC) in Lebanon. FBEC- Lebanon works under the supervision of and close collaboration with the mother entity in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil to provide Capoeira Regional classes. They have organized three workshops in Lebanon since 2009 with internationally recognized Capoeira Mestres (Masters) and Professors from Brazil to enrich the knowledge of students with the Capoeira Regional culture.

Professors and students of the school have been performing across the country showcasing Capoeira and other Afro-Brazilian dance manifestations and continue to do so today under Passos Alegres.
