Oumi Ensemble: Japanese Arabic Power Trio at Radio Beirut

Three musicians from diverse musical backgrounds come together for a concert that fuses traditional and contemporary Japanese and Arabic melodies. This is a rare chance to see the collision of sounds between Syrian oudist, Mohannad Nasser, percussionist April Centrone and Japanese-American classically-trained flutist and Japanese Shinobue player, Nobuko Miyazaki. Miyazaki has performed for many major philharmonic orchestras as soloist and also studied Arabic music and is an acomplished Nay player.
