‘Alice’ Performance by Sawsan Bou Khaled

From Sep 18 to Sep 21, 2014
8:30pm -> 11:30pm

After Cairo and Mulheim (Germany), Sawsan Bou Khaled is back in Beirut to revisit her latest creation, “Alice” which was previously presented in September and October of 2013 in Beirut.

The play features one woman, alone in her bed. The bed is in a room. The room is somewhere in space, in the void. It is a bed to sleep, rest, feel warm in; a bed of dreams, nightmares, illness, paralysis, agony, a bed for love and death. Curled up in her bed, the woman glimpses into an infinity of worlds, before slipping into daydreams and hallucinations, in which what is imaginary becomes material, joining her, locking her further into her seclusion. She unleashes her imaginary friends, and dares not set foot on the ground, for this is all the monster hiding under the bed is waiting for – to grab her by the foot and pull her down into the abyss.
