The European Film Festival, in partnership with the Italian Cultural Institute in Lebanon and the Metropolis Association, present: Cenere by Febo Mari (Italy, 1917, Restored version).

The film will be accompanied by live music performed by Giovanni Ceccarelli (piano and melody) and Marcello Allulli (saxophone)

About the Film
Rosalia Derios is an unmarried woman in a small Sardinian village whose lover abandons her before the birth of their son, Anania. She entrusts the son to the natural father, who is well-off and already married. As years pass, Rosalia ages in misery and Anania becomes an adult. The son pushes aside career prospects and cancels his plans for marriage to pursue his search for his mother.
