‘Jimmy’s Hall’ Screening at The 21st European Film Festival at Metropolis

The 21st European Film Festival will be held from November 26 to December 8 at Cinema Metropolis Empire Sofil in Achrafieh.

The European Film Festival is organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Lebanon in collaboration with the Embassies and Cultural Institutes of the European Union Member States, under the patronage of the Minister of Culture.

About the Movie
In 1921, Jimmy Gralton’s sin was to build a dance hall on a rural crossroads in Ireland. As the hall grew in popularity, its socialist and free-spirited reputation brought it to the attention of the church and politicians who forced Jimmy to flee and the hall to close. A decade later, at the height of the Depression, Jimmy returns to reintegrate into the community. Seeing the poverty and growing cultural oppression, he makes the decision to reopen the hall.
