TourLeb

Tourleb invites you to discover the magnificent stories of Lebanon’s railroads.

Visit the train stations of el-Mina and Heri (up North), then travel up the coast to see the rest of the railway lines, the tunnels of Batroun and its traces in Nahr el-Kaleb. Enjoy a mezza and seafood lunch on the seaside and discover the Colonel Beer brewery in Batroun.

The tour will be led by specialist Sarah Lily Yassine. She’s an urban planner who has practiced in Beirut and in London, serving as a consultant on ecological land use planning and sustainable urban greening. She is interested in urban wilderness and dereliction, place narratives, and the experience of mobility in public space. She has contributed to several publications on urbanism, mostly writing on the oral history of the Lebanese railways. She is active in civic campaigns to preserve Beirut’s remaining natural landscapes.
