Juan Pérez Rodríguez at Al Madina Theatre

Spanish pianist and composer Juan Pérez Rodríguez will be featured alongside American percussionist April Centrone for this performance at Al Madina Theatre.

In this concert, Juan will offer his own music from the roots of the flamenco tradition in Andalucia, south of Spain. His father family side are gypsy musicians and singers, including his father, singer and composer Juan Sombra. Juan studied classical piano as a child, as well as Jazz and different music styles. The result is a new and fresh sound, acclaimed by both purist and vanguardist flamenco lovers.

April Centrone is a very versatile and intuitive drummer and percussionist from New York. She studied Arabic music for ten years, collaborating with Ziad Rahbani, Bassam Saba, Marcel Khalife and Yo-Yo Ma, among others.
