Folk Duo April Centrone and Tammam Saeed at Radio Beirut

Radio Beirut is proud to present a return of the folk duo April Centrone and Tammam Saeed on percussion and oud.

Tammam Saeed studied music since childhood with some of the best instructors in Syria He is presently performing his own compositions and actively composing and arranging new music and songs. He provides lessons and workshops to underprivileged youth in oud, theory and ensemble instruction. In addition, he is offering private instruction in Beirut.

April Centrone
April Centrone is a drummer and percussionist originally from New York and has resided in Beirut for two years. Following a decade of intense study of classical Arabic music and riqq training under legend Michel Merhej Baklouk, she continues her role as executive director of the New York Arabic Orchestra, a U.S.based institution offering Americans the rare opportunity of year-round Arabic music practice and performance, and providing workshops to underprivileged youth.
