Head for a hike along the banks of Nahr el Bared. The river separates Akkar from Donnieh. It is really breathtaking, one of the most picturesque places in Lebanon.
The area is called, Ayoun El Samak, in Akkar, North of Lebanon. The name is in the plural, Ain being the singular form. The reason for this plural is easy to understand: the site is a corner of paradise, with springs throwing up living water on all sides.
Meeting Location: In the parking of Sagesse School in Jdeideh, facing the public garden.
Meeting Time: 7:30 a.m.
Cost
50,000 LL including transportation, guides and insurance.
What to bring
ID card, backpack, hiking boots, warm layers, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, water, energy bar and camera.
