BGC and Yukunkun presents Habibi Funk

The Beirut Groove Collective and Yukunkun Club presents… Middle Eastern Heavens – an Arabic special starring Habibi Funk aka Jannis Jakarta (Berlin, Jakarta Records).

Habibi Funk is dedicated to the funky music of the arab world of the 1970s. The crate digger and DJ, Jannis has released a series of killer mixes with his rare finds from the Arab world that have been re-introducing music heads to the little-known sounds of the Middle East and North Africa vibrant musical past.

The strictly vinyl night will feature the music of the Orient from the ’70s and ’80s including Arabic Funk, Disco Bellydance, ’70s Arabic Garage-Mod, plus all the usual Northern Soul, Deep Funk and Ethiopian Bangers.
