Yukunkun: Soulist

Soulist, also known as Le Funky French President, is one of the best French Funk DJ at the moment. He is the creator and resident Dj of the What the Funk nights in Paris which celebrated their 12 years this year.

Main actor and figure of the Parisian musical scene, he randomly plays in the best venues and clubs of the capital like La Bellevilloise, La Machine du Moulin Rouge, Le Djoon, le Batofar, l’Alimentation Générale, Nouveau Casino, Barbershop, Trianon (where he did twice the opening for Dj Shadow and Cut Chemist).
His mixes have met great and well known artists and Djs such as Bonobo, J Rocc, Mr Thing, Dj Mehdi, Cut chemist, Keb Darge, Quantic, Dj Numark, Madlib, Dj Shadow and he has been play listed by Gilles Peterson, Laurent Garnier, Lefto, Jeremy Sole KCRW , Radio Nova, Jazzanova among others.

Soulist has also another project in duo with *Fulgeance* called *Souleance*. A musical project inspired by all forms of “black music” : Hip Hop, Soul, Tropical, Disco or Boogie.
Souleance has performed ive at the Boiler Room in London in September 2013. Right after, they issued their first ep Brotha in November of the same year, then Jogar in July 2014 and their last opus, Tartare, in October 2015 on First World Record.
