Dawawine

Ziad Nawfal is the founder of the ground-breaking Beirut-based independent label – Ruptured. He has spent the better part of the last 20 years exposing Lebanon and the world to the special local and regional independent music talent on his long-running radio show – Ruptures, on Radio Liban 96.2 FM.

He started playing music in local Beiruti bars at the tender age of 18, and has played in the capital’s most renowned venues, from Babylone and Zinc in the 1990’s, to Club Social and The Basement in the 2000’s. He is currently a resident DJ at Lux, Secteur, and Stereo Kitchen.

One of the hardest-working men in Lebanese independent music, FADI TABBAL established Tunefork Studios in Beirut in 2006. Tabbal’s work as an engineer at Tunefork has secured its reputation as one of the most prominent studios in Beirut; the majority of the city’s alternative acts have passed through its doors.
Fadi is a member of several Lebanese bands, including rock groups The Incompetents and OMMM, as well as experimental trio Under the Carpet. He collaborates frequently with singer/songwriter Youmna Saba, folk bands Safar and Ramly, and is a guest player on albums by pop band Adonis, hip-hop crew Fareeq el Atrash, experimental duo Praed, folk singer Sandmoon, etc.
