‘Good Bye Schlondörff’ at Onohub

«Good bye Schlöndorff» is a 50-minute audiovisual performance which combines intimate letters discovered on the audio tapes, musical compositions and acidic melodies with short sequences from the film “Circle of Deceit” directed by Volker Schlöndorff. The viewer watches a journey through the universe of the 80’s in Lebanon. That is how reality which is represented by the intimate letters merges with Schlöndorff’s fiction. Each and every word and image is thus carefully uprooted from its original context and transplanted into the musicians’ imagination. We are watching here a sound and visual surgical procedure in which Wael Koudaih (at the machines), and Yann Pittard (at Oud) keeps deconstructing and reconstructing each and every moment of that terrible time.
