17 Jolly Christmas Events Happening Around Lebanon This Month

’Tis the season! Here’s our roundup of Christmas events, check them out – in no particular order:

1. Christmas In Action

When: December 14 – December 18, 2016.

Where: Trainstation, Mar Mikhael.

What: Fashion, art, and lots of food! The goal of Christmas In Action is to raise money for the Children’s Cancer Center Lebanon (CCCL) by showcasing local fashion and art shops as well as around 25 street food restaurants and cocktail vendors.

2. Christmas Village at Beirut Souks

When: December 17 – December 23, 2016.

Where: Beirut Souks, Downtown Beirut.

What: More than 100 stands selling Christmas decorations, home and fashion accessories, sweets and chocolate, and live food stations in addition to the Souk El Tayeb and its seasonal products.

3. Badaro Magical Christmas

When: December 10 – December 11, 2016.

Where: Badaro, Beirut.

What: – Santa’s Village full of surprises, (don’t forget to take your free Photo with Santa)
– Ice Skating Arena, Igloo, and the North Pole atmosphere
– Parades
– Live music, dance and entertainment
– Kids shows, live painting and games

4. Christmas Exhibition X Comic Mini-Con

When: December 13 – December 20, 2016.

Where: Geek Express, Downtown Beirut.

What:A convention to create awareness for comics and related popular art forms, celebrating the historic and ongoing contribution of comics to art and culture. The Comic Mini-Con is your destination to enjoy urban art, bleed art, comics, figurines, and a selection of both local and international talent.

5. Lebanon’s Christmas Market

When: December 7 – December 11, 2016.

Where: “Naccache 66”, Naccache/Rabieh road.

What: Food, food, and food! Souk el Akel goes to Antelias with over 80 wooden huts set up, 50 food vendors, live music, decorations, and kids areas!

6. Colonel Christmas Market

When: December 10 – December 23, 2016 (except for Sundays).

Where: Colonel Brewery, Batroun.

What:Expect a real Christmas market to explore, complete with over 20 traditional stalls selling all manner of goodies. Of course, there’ll be food, with sweets, chocolate, honey, gingerbread and more to wrap up and place under the tree. You can also indulge in tasty treats, like crepes and hotdogs as you wander round, holding a fresh crafted beer. But it’s not all edible. There’ll be loads of present-worthy pieces for you to pick up: candles, knitwear, ornaments and decorations, hand crafted items and unique gifts to finish your Christmas shopping list peacefully. 7. The Artwork Shop Christmas Bazaar 2016

When: December 1 – December 14, 2016 (except for Sundays).

Where: The Artwork Shop, Hamra.

What:A market filled with art, knick knacks, handmade goods, and plenty of gift ideas!

8. Christmas Market at The Village

When: December 9 – December 11, 2016 (except for Sundays).

Where: The Village, Dbayeh.

What: A great opportunity for you to finish up your Christmas shopping! They’re bringing together some of the best Lebanese designers in an exciting Christmas Market where they showcase their latest unique creations. 9. The Arsis Handbells Ensemble

When: December 4, 2016.

Where: Emile Bustani Auditorium, Beit Mery.

What: A delightful bell concert; the ensemble, (8 musicians from Estonia) travel with a ton of bells in their luggage. A great program for both adults and children, featuring Bach, Grieg, Schubert, Bizet and Christmas tunes.

When: December 3 – December 5, 2016

Where: The Backyard, Hazmieh.

What: Mulled wine, accessories, candles, ornaments, gifts, and music!

Where: Smoking Bun, Mar Mikhael.

When: December 16 – December 23, 2016

Where: City Mall, Dora.

16. Christmas For A Cause

When: December 6, 2016

Where: Mar Mikhael, Beirut.

What: In the spirit of the festive season, this community initiate pledges to donate part of the day’s proceeds to the selected NGO’s like Himaya and Oum el Nour. There will be food, drinks, and fun activities!

17. Beirut Chants Festival 2016

When: December 1 – 23, 2016

Where: Saint George Cathedral, Downtown Beirut.

What: The Beirut Chants festival is bringing back a novel set of holiday performances with nights that celebrate Christmas and the holiday season. Through the years, it has become a tradition that allows a large audience to enjoy music and the Christmas atmosphere in Beirut.
