Campaign For Safe Sex By Marsa In Beirut

In a country where sex education falls short while the rates of HIV/AIDS infection are on the rise, community based sexual health center Marsa has taken it upon itself to bridge the gap between society and medicine in regards to psychosexual health.

In honor of World AIDS Day, December 1, MARSA will be present in Badaro, Mar Mikhael, Gemmayze, and other areas to distribute condoms and pamphlets, in an effort to raise awareness and halt the stigma and discrimination against HIV positive individuals.

This gesture is small in nature, but great in effectiveness for it works to open a discussion about HIV and in turn, sexuality.

Launched in March 2011, the center provides professional healthcare services to sexually active individuals in Lebanon, regardless of their gender, age, and sexual orientation, with a focus on youth and underprivileged populations.
