Ma NiNou: An Effortlessly Cool New Spot in Beirut

If you’re on the lookout for effortlessly cool spots to enjoy dinner dates with your friends, this spot should be on your radar.

Tucked into the streets of Achrafieh, Ma NiNou is one of the area’s newest additions to the food scene. Bringing a modern, design-led take on Mediterranean dining, this spot focuses on open-fire cooking and a very straightforward menu.

Ma Ninou’s art-forward minimalism sets the tone for an engaging experience, divided into different zones, including a main bar, trottoir, and a private dining room centered around an open-grill kitchen.

Inside, the interiors lean playful and contemporary, with bold art details that give the place a distinct visual identity. It’s one of those places you casually suggest to your friends, where you can share dishes and drinks over lively chatter.

The menu follows a similar approach, where dishes are built sharing and enjoying company without trying too hard.

A modern take on Mediterranean and Lebanese cooking, the flame is at the center of the experience. The menu follows a charred-grill approach, featuring grilled vegetables, simple salads, and well-executed meat dishes focusing on clean, direct flavors. A no-frills menu with no heavy sauces in sight.

You can expect dishes like the sèves tomato, artichauts et poires, and Ninou fumée, which point to a menu that’s more seasonal with subtle French influences.

The restaurant is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM and again from 6:30 PM till late. After 11 PM, it shifts into a livelier mood, blending into Beirut’s nightlife.
